A Message from Founder Family

Turning preparation into peace of mind

The Story Behind A Final Message

"Each year, as much as $1 billion in life insurance goes unclaimed in the U.S., often because beneficiaries are unaware a policy exists or don’t know how to file a claim. This means loved ones sometimes miss out simply due to lack of information or communication about policies." (Source)

The idea for A Final Message came from such heartbreaking statistics like the one above simply because when tragedy struck, not enough proactive preparation was made. In moments of unexpected loss, families are often left scrambling, not knowing who to contact, what information is important, or even how to carry out someone's wishes. It's one of those problems no one wants to think about until it happens, and by then, it's too late.

Preparation is one of the greatest gifts we can give to the people we love.

Our founding team is a family of experienced entrepreneurs that have built businesses with hundreds of team members, $100mm in annual revenues with enterprise level privacy, security and operations to the next generation of entrepreneur just starting the journey (see below!). We are committed to building a service that goes beyond just logistics, we want to provide complete peace of mind for you and your loved ones. It's about making sure parents can give their children clarity in the worst-case scenario. It's about making sure partners, friends, and loved ones receive not only the practical guidance they need, but also the comfort of a personal message when it matters most.

This service is for anyone who values taking care of the people they care about, whether that means ensuring children are supported, partners are guided, or even that a final message of love and reassurance is left behind. In creating this, our goal has been simple: to turn a deeply human fear into an act of compassion, security, and trust.

Our Mission

To make a difficult subject a little easier by offering a tool rooted in compassion, security, and trust. We believe that preparing for the unexpected is an act of love, and we're here to help in the most simple and meaningful way possible.

I'm a worrier at heart and learned early in life that preparation (Polly would say over-preparation at times!) provided the peace of mind to lessen my worries. I've made contact lists and written love letters just in case but never knew how they would end up in their hands if something happened to me. After conversations with advisors and attorneys who suggested "someone should build this," I decided to convince my family to work on A Final Message as a personal need and a service to others.

As a mom, I founded A Final Message after realizing that the most profound act of love I could give my children wasn't just being there for them today, but ensuring they'd have my guidance, comfort, and practical support even if tomorrow never came. Preparing these messages ahead of time transforms an unbearable fear into an empowering act of love because every parent knows that protecting our children from unnecessary pain, even in our absence, is what we're meant to do.

Beyond the court, I've always believed preparation matters just as much in life as it does in sports. A Final Message was born from this belief, that being ready isn't about expecting the worst, it's about loving your family enough to spare them additional stress during life's hardest moments.
